Below is one of the filler posts I readied, to plug in while away from KSA. I do apologize for the 3 week gap in posting, my goal is to post weekly. I think it was a combination of traveling, making time to sit down to write a post, being busy taking care of family, house etc, and perhaps, when not in KSA, it is harder to focus on that life thousands of miles away. Enough said.
Al Khobar is like any other city where you come across some very nice neighborhoods. When we first drove down Prince Salman Bin Abdulaziz Road I was blown away. (All of the roads in Al Khobar are named after the many Kings and the hundreds of Princes in KSA and the cross streets are numbered.) (Prince Salman Bin Abdulaziz is the current Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia.) It is several miles long and is actually a connecter road between two sections of town. I could not believe the size of these homes. I tried to find some information on the road but there is really nothing available. Most of the folks I have talked with know of the road and all seem very impressed. Someone said that most of the homes are owned by many of the heads of the big companies in the area. These homes are just one of several homes owned by these folks some in other parts of Saudi Arabia and others all around the world. Not sure on the size but in my rough calculation I assume they range between 10,000 to 25,000 square feet in size.
I walked from one end of the road to the other end taking these pictures. I took pictures of most of the completed homes with many more under construction. Unfortunately in some of the photos you could not really capture the size of these homes. Check it out!
Love all your posts. This is amazing!
